About

In September 2012, I was accepted on Social Security Disability. I am only 33 years old. A month before college started in 2000 I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus. It was a nice slap in the face accompanied with, “Welcome to the real world!” After 13 years, I decided my body (and mind) just couldn’t keep up with a full time job anymore. Not to mention, my symptoms seemed to become worse.

I have always had a love for reading and writing. And by writing I mean with a pen/pencil and piece of paper. Now that I am home full time, I have given myself a couple of goals to keep busy and to stay sane. I have two blogs and have started to write two novels. This blog is anything that is pet/animal related. Of course, I only work on my writing if my body will let me.

Check out my other blog at http://www.sdloopy.wordpress.com to read more about how I’m dealing with my illnesses in my life.

  1. Someone told me have just become the latest member of The Spikey’s, that small clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70’s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, and hope you have a great day…

    1. Awwww thank you! I love your blog as well! It may take me awhile to figure this out. I have one other award that I need to post but can’t completely figure it out. Haha

  2. I certainly understand what you mean about full time work. You only have so much to give and your body can’t give what it used to. Blogging is an amazing outlet for creativity, and you can always take a nap between blogs. 🙂

    1. Have you read about The Spoon Theory? It explains it so well regarding your sentence, “You only have so much to give and your body can’t give what it used to. I have to agree with you that naps are a good rest between blogs. I love naps! 🙂 And I agree that blogging is an amazing outlet.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

      1. If I read it, I don’t remember the spoon theory. The rememberie doesn’t work. Not that it ever did. 🙂

Good luck with your blog, have fun with it, and it will tell you more about who you are than all the people you know, trust and love.

      1. You will stay in my thoughts and my prayers.
You have so many who care for you.
I have posted several stories about my son and his struggles, you may find them of some comfort.

    1. I look forward to reading more posts from you! I’m glad you are enjoying my writing. I actually saw you post something on someone else’s account; I looked at the name and then what you have as a picture and thought, “I have to check out that page!!” As you can probably tell, I like nature as well. 🙂

      1. Thanks for all your visits to my blog! Look forward to your posts. I’m a little slow in getting back to people now that art season has started, but I will get back to you as I can.

  3. Lupus is a tough one but you seem to have found a way to stay upbeat. I love the title of your blog 🙂
Thanks for visiting my blog, Fur Out The Closet.
